FAQs
- Why? - Because I had nothing to do one night, really liked Amarok scripting, and got carried away.
- How? - Amarok scripting, mySQL db, CF for processing data, and html delivery....
- Oh, HOW? - Will explain later.
- Error? - At least once a day I update the online music db with any tagging corrections for my tracks. It is a BIG db...and when I run the update, I lock the db which causes errors. But I made sure they are "nice" errors. :) Or...it could just be an error
12.27.2006 update: Changed local dbs, so it is much faster to move over now. Plus now it tracks songs even when I am not "online" - Can I download this music? - sure...from iTunes, or somewhere like that - not HERE, that would be wrong, illegal and most important - could get ME in trouble.
- Will you stream this music? - already KINDA do...but only on my private network. I may in the future do a radio station kinda thing.
12.27.2006 update: Now Featuring an album a week, available via the Junky Player. - Did you really listen to _______? - probably. Sometimes I forget to put the player on pause and walk away for a bit, and SOMETIMES I hear the first 10 seconds of a tune...then NEXT. But most of the time I let the tracks play...yes even Mandy - NO Judging!
- Quite the range? - Yea, despite popular belief, I am more than a Hip-Hop guy. I love music - and now the secret is out, I listen to everything from Barry Manilow to Barry White.
- What's with the iTunes button?
- I joined the iTunes Affiliate program as a benefit to those of you use iTunes. You can click on that link and it will take you to the album for that song. You can then hear a sample of the tune. If you happen to buy the song...I get a WHOOPING 5 cents. - Why don't all albums/songs have the link? Some don't go to the exact album/song? - The link builder for specfic albums/songs is a manual process and I have over 800 albums in my collection - may take a while to get all of them into the system. And iTunes doesn't carry every album I have, in those cases I just link to the Artist.
- What's with the iTunes Banners? - Since I joined the program...figured why not use the banners they have :)
- Featured Album, what's that all about? - I decided since my host provider up'd my bandwith and storage, that I would feature one album a week that you can listen to via the "junky" player.
- ummm..."Junky Player"? - The "Junky Player" is actually Flash MP3 Player by Jeronen Wijering. So thanks goes to him for writing an easiy app for me to plug in to the music site.
